Select Safety Measures After reviewing the various safety references, doing a literature search, or talking with supervisors or peers, you should now have a good understanding of the potential physical hazards (flammability, corrosivity, reactivity, etc.) and health hazards of the substances you will handle and the manner in which you might be exposed to them. Armed with this information you can implement safety procedures or controls (in addition to those used with all chemicals) appropriate for your experiment. The specific safety procedures to follow under different circumstances will be described later in this program.
