 At
New Employee Orientation, you'll learn about Yale
and meet your fellow new employees.
The
morning session covers Yale's history, its organizational
structure, and current Yale initiatives that will
affect each person's work life. You'll be given
a continental breakfast, a bus tour of Yale and
Greater New Haven, and a brief walking tour of the
central campus (weather permitting). The afternoon
session begins with lunch at a local New Haven restaurant,
followed by the opportunity to sign up for Yale's
great health and retirement benefits.
Orientation
is held on Mondays from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
at 221 Whitney Avenue (directions below). Free
parking is available in the Pierson/Sage garage
at 350 Edwards St. (see below for more information).
Dress is casual, and breakfast and lunch are

There
are just a few other things you need to know to
plan your day:
- Bring
your social security numbers (yours and family
members) and birth dates (yours and family
members)
so that you can sign up for your benefits.
- You
may want to check-in with your supervisor about
what to do after orientation. Your supervisor
has been notified, by copy of your offer letter,
that you are attending the orientation program.
S/he has received a Supervisor's Guide designed
to help with your welcome to the University.
- If
you miss your orientation for any reason, talk
with your supervisor immediately and then call
the Learning Center at (203) 432-5660 to arrange
a new orientation date. Eligibility to some
employment benefits is time-sensitive, so it
is important not to delay.

From
Interstate 95 North or South
Connect
to I-91 North in New Haven; take Exit 3 (Trumbull
Street) and follow directions below for I-91.
From
Interstate 91 North or South
Take
Exit 3 (Trumbull Street). Continue to second
traffic light. Turn right onto Whitney Avenue
and continue to the first traffic light. Just
beyond the traffic light at Sachem Street, take
a right into the driveway at 221 Whitney Avenue.

After parking your car, enter the building and
take the elevator down one floor to Level B.
Room LL1 is on your left as you exit the elevator.
Parking
Parking is available in the Pierson-Sage
parking garage located across the street from
221 Whitney at 350 Edwards Street. Access to
the garage is via the roof (from Edwards Street).
Turn into the driveway, and follow the bend
to the left. When you arrive at the entrance,
the gate will prevent you from proceeding. Type
the key code sent to you in your offer letter
package and enter and park in any open space.
The stair tower and elevator are to the left
as you enter. Exit is via roof only. Again,
type the key code and the gate will rise to
let you out. After parking your car, proceed
across the street and South on Whitney to 221
Whitney Ave. Note: the key code is only
available for your orientation, Monday from
7am to 11am. If you lost the key code number,
please contact the OD & Learning Center
at 432-5660.
Enter
221 Whitney through the front door and proceed
straight to the elevators. Take the elevators
down one floor to the basement level. New Employee
Orientation is held in Room LL1, directly to
your left as you exit the elevator. The program
begins at 8:30 am.
