Prior to 1998, Sam worked in industry for 21 years. During his industrial career, he worked for General Motors, Black & Decker, General Electric, and Owens-Illinois. Sam has managed a molding operation in the packaging industry, and he has led multi-national projects in new product development in the electrical machinery industry. Sam also coordinated new product start-ups in the consumer products industry, and led product and tooling design groups in the automotive industry. He has worked on, or led projects in the US, Europe, Asia, South America, and the Caribbean. Sam is Chairman of the Advisory Board of Hartford Steam Boiler Registration Services, an ISO 9000 Registrar. He has also served as a member of the Governing Board of the Connecticut Pre-Engineering Program (CPEP).

Sam and his wife, Sandra, met and married while both were serving as officers in the US Army, stationed at Ft. Knox, KY. Sandra is Assistant Director of Career Services at Gateway Community College. They have two children, both of whom attend Virginia Tech. Their son, Michael, majors in Architecture at Virginia Tech, and their daughter, Sonya, majors in Communications Studies. They have resided in Branford since 1984, and are active in the community, where they are members of St. Stephen's African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.

Sam Eskridge
returned to the Learning Center as a Learning Associate in November, 2002, after two years as a Help Desk Analyst and ITS Instructor in Yale's ITS Support Services Group. Previously, Sam was a Learning Associate with the Organizational Development and Learning Center, where he worked on the initial stages of a Compliance Management system for federally mandated training at Yale University. Prior to this assignment, Sam was a Training Coordinator for Project X, where he developed and delivered training in Oracle Procurement applications. Sam is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Connecticut, and is owner of Williams-Eskridge Associates, a consulting and training practice in Branford, CT. Since 1998, the company has served clients in the manufacturing industry, and conducted customized training for local colleges. He is also an instructor at CompUSA, where he teaches Microsoft Office, Windows, Internet Basics, and Palm Pilot.
